The Colonization of the 3rd world has brought alot of troubles to the indigenous people. The story of the Colonial India is not different. The North-West Frontier of Colonial India had a different status. Haji Sahib Turangzai, one among many, tried to work for his people. He was not a graduate from any university but the movement he started was first of its nature among the Pukhtuns. He tried to resolve their mutual differences on one hand and educate them on the other which he had realized was need of the time. At the same time he introduced POLITICS OF NONCOOPERATION, much earlier than Gandhi Ji. The Colonial Authorities, however, could not tolerate his activities and he was arrested. The British Indian government's policies changed his complete outlook and he turned against the authorities. He migrated to tribal area and remained busy in fighting against the colonial authorites till his death. The Movement, initiated by Haji Sahib did not end with his migration. Rather Abdul Ghaffar Khan and other disciples of Haji Sahib not only continued the educational and social reformation but also occupied the politics of the province for the decades to come.

Hatinya bertambah sakit bila mat poyo tu selamba saja setuju dengan pertunangan ‘mee segera’ itu.

Something is subject to luck if it is beyond our control. In this book, Haji shows that luck detrimentally affects both moral obligation and moral responsibility. He argues that factors influencing the way we are, together with considerations that link motivation and ability to perform intentional actions, frequently preclude our being able to do otherwise. Since obligation requires that we can do otherwise, luck compromises the range of what is morally obligatory for us. This result, together with principles that conjoin responsibility and obligation, is then exploited to derive the further skeptical conclusion that behavior for which we are morally responsible is limited as well. Throughout these explorations, Haji makes extensive use of concrete cases to test the limits of how we should understand free will moral responsibility, blameworthiness, determinism, and luck itself.

Rasulullah telah tiada, maka aku bukan muadzin siapa-siapa lagi.\

Somali people speak quite a number of languages and dialects, Maay and Mahaa being the lingua franca of the majority. In 1972, the latter was put in a written format and became the national language of the country. This experiment alienated the other Somali languages and produced tremendous disenchantment, particularly on the part of the Maay speakers. In 2003, however, the Somali Peace and Reconciliation Conference at Mbegathi, Kenya, acknowledged that Maay will be another official language of the Somali Republic. This English-Maay Dictionary is the first experiment exploring the roots of Maay language and its relationship to the other Somali dialects as well the Kushitic family of languages in the Horn of Africa. The dictionary provides over 15,000 of the most frequently used words in Maay and their English translations, with numerous examples of their every day usage. The dictionary is a vital addition to reference collections supporting undergraduate and graduate programs on African and Middle Eastern Studies. It is also an essential tool for non-Somali case workers such as those in refugee camps, immigration and naturalization officials or lawyers dealing with Somali asylum seekers. It is equally a vital tool for interpreters and translators working on court cases, hospitals and legal papers as well as for public school teachers on ESL programs that teach Maay- speaking children in English- speaking countries. ________________________________________________ Dr. Mohamed Haji Mukhtar is Professor of African and Middle Eastern History at the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, Savannah State University, USA.
